In Gothenburg there is a strong coffee culture, which means that there is a plethora of really good cafes. From the big chain to the smaller and cozy cafes. Da Matteo
The café Da Matteo, which also both roasts its own coffee and bakes its own bread, is located in several places in Gothenburg. The most cozy room is located in the charming Victoriapassagen, a small alley with shops and delicacies. Not far from there are their two larger cafes on the also charming Magasinsgatan.
Kafé Magasinet
On the popular Tredje Långgatan, Kafé Magasinet is located in a cozy courtyard. Here you can sit indoors, under a glass roof and in the open air. The menu includes everything from coffee, juices and coffee to simple dishes and beer. Right next door are several good restaurants and a wine bar.

Brogyllen
One of Gothenburg’s most classic patisseries and cafés is called Brogyllen. Here you sit indoors in historic premises with high ceilings or outdoors at the street corner at Västra Hamngatan and the canal. Here you can buy classic Swedish pastries, coffee, juices and bread.
Bar Centro
At Bar Centro, it feels like you’re standing on a side street in Southern Europe having an espresso and a croissant. This place is best without children and in addition to very good coffee there are also sandwiches and some pastries. There are a few places indoors, some with a heat lamp in the alley and a couple of tables in the summer on the street.
Café Husaren
In the cozy district Haga, which has almost exclusively cobbled streets, is equally cozy Café Husaren. Here you can have a coffee in a cozy retro environment and eat their famous giant cinnamon buns.
