Gothenburg’s best parks

All good cities allow a large area of the city to consist of parks. This is also the case in Gothenburg, and here there are both large and small parks that invite you to go for walks, play, sports and other fun. All parks are free to visit. Here we have collected Gothenburg’s best parks.

Slottsskogen

Slottsskogen is Gothenburg’s main park, open all year round, with both animals, a playground and a museum. In the corner towards the Linné district, there is a large playground called Plikta. There are swings, slides, water play, football field, trampolines and lots of things for the children to climb on. The cozy restaurant and café Villa Belparc is beautifully located next to a pond. Trädgårdsföreningen

Right in the city center is the park Trädgårdsföreningen. There are several gravel paths for a beautiful walk along the canal, beautiful flowers and plantings and in the middle an old greenhouse that you can pay an entrance fee to enter. Trädgårdsföreningen has a fun playground for the children and a cafe/restaurant.

Ramberget

On the other side of Göta Älv from central Gothenburg lies Ramberget. The entire mountain is a park with both a road and a walking path up to the top. Once up you get a lovely view of Gothenburg. Bring your picnic and enjoy!

Hisingsparken

The largest park in Gothenburg is called Hisingsparken. It is located in the northern part of Gothenburg and has both forest areas, a nice lake, a farm you can visit and several playgrounds. There are several kilometers of trails for hiking or running.
